ShotgunFACTS Field Kit Custom-Fit Instructions

Every shooter sees the world differently. We help you see yours better.

To receive your custom-fit ShotgunFACTS Field Kit (aka "SF Field Kit") please send us the following five measures.

Arm’s Length ShotgunFACTS Card

Please provide us the measurement in inches or centimeters (please specify which) from your Dominant Eye (DE) to the first knuckle of your Dominant Hand’s (DH) index finger (see photo)

Front-Bead/Muzzle ShotgunFACTS Card

Please provide us the measurement in inches or centimeters (please specify which) from your Dominant Eye (DE) to the front bead of the gun you are shooting (see photo).

Front-of-Receiver ShotgunFACTS Card

Please provide us with the measurement in inches or centimeters (please specify which) from your Dominant Eye (DE) to the front of the receiver of the gun you are shooting in competition (see photo).

Quiet Eye (QE) Measures

Please provide us with four times for Reaction Time Testing taken at four different times of the day (suggestions: first thing in the morning, mid-day, afternoon and evening).

N.B. we are NOT looking for how fast your four separate times are from the Human Benchmarking site, instead we are looking for how consistently you can repeat the measures. For students and clients of our program, we typically will throw out the fastest or slowest times, depending on what the standard distribution of values is from the across-the-day testing that they provide us.

So please remember that, as we say in the racing world: “slow is smooth and smooth is fast.” That is especially true for sporting clays. What we are looking from you here, with these neurophysiologic measures, is consistently smooth and controlled reaction times.

We will then coach and help turn those measures into Elite-level performance Quiet Eye (QE) intervals, out at the range during your Deliberate Practice sessions and on Competition Day!
