FACTS Field Kit

The Forward Allowance Chart and Timing System (FACTS) Field Kit provides a shooter with the ability to determine with precision the forward allowance to break any target between 10 to 70 yards and at speeds from 10 mph to 60 mph.  The purchase of the FACTS Field Kit also includes an online lesson on how to use it. 

To work properly, these kits are tailored to an individual shooter and detailed measurement instructions will be included with the purchase of the FACTS Field Kit.

If you would like a shooter specific custom-fit SF Field Kit we will need the following measures from you (Please follow the Instructions on this page).

• Arm’s Length ShotgunFACTS Card: Measurement from your dominant eye to the first knuckle of your dominant hand’s index finger.

• Front-Bead/Muzzle ShotgunFACTS Card: Measurement from your dominant eye to the front bead of the gun you are shooting (see photo below).

• Front-of-the-Receiver ShotgunFACTS Card:  Measurement from your dominant eye to the front of the receiver of the gun you are shooting  (see photo below).

• Quiet Eye (QE) Measures Cards:  Please provide us with four times for Reaction Time Testing (see URL below) taken at four different times of the day (suggestions: first thing in the morning, mid-day, afternoon and evening).  N.B. we are NOT looking for how fast your four separate times are from the Human Benchmarking site, instead we are for how consistent you can make them.  For students and clients of our program, we typically will throw out the fastest or slowest times, depending on what the standard distribution of values is from the across-the-day testing.  So please remember that, as we say in the racing world: “slow is smooth and smooth is fast” and especially for sporting clays what we are looking for here with these physiologic measures is consistently smooth speeds.  Think “Target Response Time” and less “How fast can I go?!?! Time”
